Intro:
Nothing really funky here. All he is doing in the very begining is tremolo
picking the high strings while moving his hand up and down the fret board.
Pretty straight forward.
Next, he is doing some volume swells. Not complicated at all. Just turn
down the volume knob on your guitar, then strike the appropriate chord,
then raise the volume. You'll get the hang of it after a while.
The chords he uses in the intro appear to be an E# and a D#. Both are power
chords.

The fill can be produced by sliding your finger up and down the fret board
while picking. We call it a slide.

What he does to produce the high pitch noise is he hits the g string behind the
nut; however, it can be produced just as easily by hitting the 22 fret on the
e string.
